About the Group

Mixed Gender Adolescent Group
This group is an ongoing, open ended group for adolescents, 8th -11th grade. The groups are mixed gender and have by design, different problem profiles within the group (most common issues: self-esteem erosion; difficulties making and sustaining friendships; mood dysregulation; impulsive behavior; general and social anxiety, and depression). I believe we can learn a lot about ourselves by being with people who are different from us, as well as from people who have similar problems. The average length of participation is two years, but members only initially agree to trying five sessions. The atmosphere is one of warm acceptance, non judgmental and caring feedback, and support, with a primary focus on relationship issues. Pre-screening interview required prior to joining this group.
