About the Group
Relational Therapy Group for High School Aged Youth
This group is an ongoing, open ended relational therapy groups for adolescents 10th -12th grade (slected 9th grade and post-graduate candidates will be considered). The groups are mixed gender and have by design, different problem profiles within the group (most common issues: difficulties making and sustaining close friendships and dating relationships; emotional expression; mood dysregulation; social and general anxiety and depression;. I believe we can learn a lot about ourselves by being with people who are different from us, as well as from people who have similar problems. The average length of participation is two years, but members only initially agree to trying five sessions. The atmosphere is one of warm acceptance, non-judgmental and caring feedback, and support, with a primary focus on relationship issues. Pre-screening interview before joining the group is required.
